Research

My research examines digital systems at three interconnected levels: their underlying protocol infrastructure, their interactions with people and organizations, and their behavior as large-scale digital ecosystems. Across these areas, I combine empirical measurement, data-intensive analysis, experimentation, and system design to understand how digital technologies behave and how they can become more secure, trustworthy, and socially beneficial.

Together, these three categories define a research program concerned with the trustworthiness of digital technology across systems, people, and society: securing the infrastructure on which digital activity depends, understanding how intelligent systems affect human agency and work, and building the empirical evidence needed to evaluate digital ecosystems.
